Dr. Dana Carson, D.Min., Ph.D., MBA

“I tell everybody, I wake up every day dumb. Pastor, Church Planter, Author, Entrepreneur, Leadership Consultant & Global Visionary

Dr. Dana Carson is the founder and senior pastor of the Reflections of Christ’s Kingdom World Outreach International (The R.O.C.K.) in Houston, Texas. The R.O.C.K. is a Bible-centered, Spirit-filled, community-building, Kingdom-minded ministry founded in 2003. He possesses more than 36 years of pastoral ministry and leadership experience.

Dr. Carson's large, local congregation has three church campuses, administrative offices and 221 acres of land for future development in the Houston area. Most recently, in the midst of the COVID pandemic, he led his ministry in purchasing a local iconic landmark: 10-acre, 10,000 sq. ft. campus in south Houston on the Broadway corridor near Hobby airport.

Expansion and acquisition for God are a part of his ethos of ministry; he has acquired a vast multi-million dollar international real estate and asset portfolio for The R.O.C.K., giving his organization one of the largest ministry footprints among non-denominational churches in the nation.

Combining Spirit-filled fire, lessons learned during his upbringing on the south side of Chicago, and formal training, including a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, a Doctor of Ministry from Boston University, an MBA from Duke University, and a host of other academic credentials, Dr. Carson is able to touch the hearts of people from all cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds worldwide.

However, Dr. Carson’s leadership training skills are not limited to the religious community; he is also the founder and principal consultant of Carson Leadership and Development Corporation, providing leadership training for corporate and nonprofit organizations.

Additionally, Dr. Carson has planted various churches throughout the U.S., Africa and Europe. Over his 36 years of ministry leadership, Dr. Carson has established and grown multiple churches, entrepreneurial ventures, and professional business organizations.

He functions as a ministry covering for more than 100 churches worldwide, and with his heart for training and equipping pastors for leadership in their churches and communities, he is known globally as a pastor’s pastor.

He supplies those whom he leads with ample resources to transform their thinking and their practices. In addition to authoring more than 200 books on the kingdom of God, Dr. Carson has also written on such topics as relationships, race and Christianity, leadership, parenting, and many others.

Dr. Carson’s leadership throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been the topic of discussion on a national level. While thousands of other churches closed their doors or experienced significant decline since the start of COVID-19, Dr. Carson’s ministry has thrived and increased its sustainability.

Over the two-year span of the pandemic, through strategic leadership efforts, he managed to retain an astounding 90 percent of his church members. This, along with a decades-long track record of ministry leadership effectiveness make Dr. Carson a highly sought-after consultant for his expertise in how to establish, lead and sustain successful churches, nonprofit and for profit organizations.

Dr. Carson and The R.O.C.K. have been enthusiastic supporters of the Texas Black Expo since its inception. As a result of Dr. Carson's abilities to inspire his followers into action and attain the next level of their lives, Jerome Love began the Texas Black Expo with his business partner, Shannon Cormier Williams, Ph.D. Both are long-time members of Dr. Carson’s ministry and have benefitted greatly from his leadership.

Texas Black Expo appreciates the unwavering support and commitment that Dr. Dana Carson has offered to our organization as a community partner, leadership consultant and spiritual advisor. For more information about Dr. Dana Carson and The R.O.C.K., visit www.drdanacarson.com and www.therockwoi.com.
